Alex CLIFTON
As Vice President, Operations, Alex leads operations functions that advance product development and commercial strategy. In this role, he oversees operational domains that shape end‑to‑end product execution, strengthen commercial performance, and support HKDL’s long‑term strategic priorities.
Prior to this appointment, Alex served as Vice President, Live Entertainment – International at Disney Live Entertainment, part of Walt Disney Imagineering, leading live entertainment across Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris, and Abu Dhabi. Prior to that, he was Executive Director, Entertainment at HKDL, overseeing the development and delivery of HKDL’s shows, entertainment productions, and seasonal programs.
Earlier in his career, Alex was the Co-founder and Artistic Director of Storyhouse in the UK – one of the country’s most successful arts buildings, incorporating library, theatres, cinemas and restaurant. In his 10 years with Storyhouse, Alex shaped the creative output of the organization and produced award-winning commercial theatre, events and community festivals. Prior to that, Alex was a Senior Acting Teacher at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, worked as an assistant director at The National Theatre and a resident director at English National Opera. His book on actor training was commissioned and published by Bloomsbury in 2016.
Alex holds a first class Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Language from the University of Oxford.
