Michael MORIARTY
Managing Director

Michael MORIARTY

Michael Moriarty is the managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL). He is responsible for the overall management of the theme park and its three resort hotels, creating magical memories for guests from all over the world, while driving strategies that deliver business growth.

Michael brings 14 years of experience working for The Walt Disney Company in a variety of senior roles, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for HKDL and other areas of Disney’s parks, experiences and products segment.

As the CFO, Michael was responsible for driving revenue and operating income from 2009 through 2012, during the first major expansion of the resort which brought the addition of popular developments, including Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point and Toy Story Land.

Most recently, he served as the managing director of Hasbro Far East and senior vice president of Global Sourcing for Hasbro Hong Kong. In this role, he drove significant business transformation and growth strategies, helping establish Hasbro as a global hub for toy and game product development, quality, sourcing, supply chain, and corporate social responsibility across nine countries and regions.

A Hong Kong resident since 2006, Michael is actively involved in the local business community. He recently served on the board of directors for Fair Employment Agency and he and his family are active volunteers with local NGO’s.

Michael is a graduate of Lehigh University in the United States, where he holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a master’s degree in Business Administration. He is married with two children.

Tim SYPKO
Senior Vice President, Operations

Tim SYPKO

Tim is responsible for operations across the park and three hotels, along with Entertainment and Costuming, and the lines of business and functional expertise across our operating areas, including Park Operations, Food & Beverage, Merchandise, Facilities Services, Resort Integration, Security and Safety. Tim focuses on developing and inspiring HKDL cast members, the delivery of exceptional guest experiences and driving strong business results.

Tim began his Disney career in 1990 as an attraction host in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park and has held diverse leadership roles since then. Prior to joining HKDL, he was vice president, Park Operations Line of Business at Walt Disney World Resort. He has extensive experience in park operations, workforce management, experience development and line of business support across Disney Parks, including supporting the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the launch of FastPass+.

Tim holds a bachelor of science degree from Florida Southern College and a management certificate from Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business.

Wai Quen CHAN
Vice President, Human Resources

Wai Quen CHAN

Wai Quen Chan leads the site human resources team in the development of HR strategies to attract, develop and retain talent required to drive the business forward. Wai Quen and her team support all leaders across the organization in developing a culture of Disney leadership in HKDL. Leveraging her depth of knowledge and experience in the markets of the Asia-Pacific region, she plays a key role in advancing the HR function within the resort.

Wai Quen joined HKDL from Intel Corporation, where she held the position of director, Human Resources, working with business units in both Asia and the U.S. During her tenure with Intel, she supported the organization through leadership transitions and business transformations and provided HR expertise in the areas of leadership and talent development, change management, employee engagement and designing end-to-end HR solutions.

Wai Quen holds an Honours degree, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor’s Degree of Arts (Jurisprudence) from the University of Adelaide, a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from University of South Australia and a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Relations Law from University of Melbourne. She is also admitted as barrister and solicitor in Hong Kong and Australia.

Lesz BANHAM
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Lesz BANHAM

As Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Lesz oversees all functions of financial management including controllership, operations finance, corporate alliances, revenue management and analytics, and strategic sourcing & procurement. The role provides commercial, financial and strategic support for HKDL, laying the foundation for long-term growth of the resort.

Lesz started his Disney career in 1995 at Walt Disney World Resort and has held many finance roles of increasing responsibility in different lines of business across the company, including Adventures by Disney and Global Business Development. He previously held the role of Vice President of Finance, Segment Planning and Communications, where he led the Disney Parks’ financial planning processes, including long-term and annual operating plans, capital plans, monthly forecasts and quarterly earnings reviews. From 2018 to 2021, he held the role of Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Shanghai Disney Resort.

Lesz is a member of the Board of Directors for Hope Water International, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to clean water to remote villages in Africa.

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Stetson University in the United States.

Anita LAI
Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs

Anita LAI

As Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs, Anita Lai oversees HKDL’s publicity, government relations, media relations, corporate citizenship and internal communications portfolios.

Anita brings over 20 years of professional experience in public affairs, corporate reputation management and integrated communications to the role. She joined Hong Kong Disneyland in 2006 and was promoted to Director, Marketing in 2011, overseeing product strategy and publicity of marketing campaigns. Most recently, Anita was Director, Corporate Citizenship and spearheaded corporate social responsibility initiatives. This included formulizing strategies for child-patients projects, inspiring youths with Disney’s creativity, promoting volunteerism to the community, and overseeing stakeholder relationship and issue management projects.

Anita is committed to bringing the magic of Disney to the community through close partnerships with NGOs and the devoted service from Disney VoluntEARS. From November 2021, she has served as Chairperson at Make-A-Wish Foundation Hong Kong – a local NGO devoted to supporting and comforting children and families with life-threatening illnesses.

Earlier in her career, Anita worked for multinational corporations including Weber Shandwick Worldwide, Mission Hills Golf Club and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

Anita holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Daisy SIT
Vice President, Marketing

Daisy SIT

As Vice President of Marketing, Daisy Sit leads the Marketing Teams to develop winning strategies and integrated consumer campaigns that drive theme park attendance, hotel occupancy and revenue growth from a diverse source of markets across Hong Kong, Mainland China and international regions.

In her role, Daisy and her teams develop effective marketing strategies and communication tactics that speak to diverse consumers and build the emotional connection that cultivates higher brand affinity. She also works closely with other entities of The Walt Disney Company and business partners to identify strategic and commercial opportunities to strengthen the Disney brand in the region.

Daisy is a seasoned marketing professional with over 20 years of experience in brand building and organization leadership in Hong Kong and Mainland China. She has worked for multi-national corporations including Johnson and Johnson where she led and a developed multi-tier skincare portfolio for different business models in Mainland China. She led critical marketing functions including brand management, customer relationship management, public relations, global strategic insights and integrated communications, and achieved strong business growth and effective communications qualities.

Daisy holds a bachelor degree in Sociology from Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Simon ZHANG
Vice President, Sales

Simon ZHANG

Simon Zhang is Vice President of Sales of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. In this capacity, he develops the sales and distribution strategies for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to drive theme park admission, hotel and MICE business and leads the sales and eCommerce teams to manage distribution channels and boost sales growth.

With a wealth of over 30 years’ experience and track a record as a senior sales executive at various leading MNC and Fortune 500 companies across Consumer Goods, Leisure & Entertainment industries, Simon provides a unique and diverse perspectives for driving new business opportunities, identifying key business drivers, shaping distribution channels and building strategic partnerships especially with trade and industry stakeholders.

Simon has worked throughout key markets in Asia, such as China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines where he demonstrated strong leadership in a cross-functional commercial team from different markets with different cultures to achieve desired goals. Prior to joining HKDL, Simon was senior sales vice president for China and Hong Kong at Genting Cruise Lines, responsible for overall sales and trade marketing management, sales reservation and support and cruise sales revenue for all cruise ships in the region.

Simon holds a Master of Economics from Ren Min University of China.

Leon CHAN
Vice President, Technology, Digital and Data

Leon CHAN

Leon is responsible for managing and driving technology, digital and data strategies for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. He oversees digital channels for business and cast members, as well as cloud and on-site infrastructure, development and quality assurance, professional services, cyber security and program management. He also drives an integrated approach to data which provides relevant insight to inform company strategy, enable revenue growth and profitability and internal efficiencies.

Leon brings extensive professional experience in technology and innovation to his role. He joined the company in 2005 as a member of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort opening team and he has served in various leadership roles in the Technology team. Leon took an adventure to The Walt Disney Company (APAC) in 2010 and worked closely with business units such as Studio, Consumer Products and TV across all countries in Asia Pacific region. Most recently, Leon was executive director, Technology and Digital and responsible for leading his team in delivering world-class digital experiences to our guests and consumers, optimizing operational efficiency, as well as enabling business and innovation at all levels.

Leon holds a Master of Business Systems degree from Monash University in Australia.

Rosalyn WOO
Vice President, Product Strategy, Park Operations and Planning

Rosalyn WOO

As Vice President of Product Strategy, Park Operations and Planning, Rosalyn orchestrates site-wide product strategy for priority franchises and audiences across all guest touchpoints by developing, integrating and delivering various products offerings, site expansion, digital experiences and large-scale events that align with consumer and guest expectations. She also oversees the resort’s park operations line of business and the planning functions of operations integration, workforce management, operating guides and documentation and industrial engineering at HKDL.

Rosalyn’s career at Disney began as an industrial engineering intern at Walt Disney World Resort. She joined HKDL in 2003 as industrial engineer and was part of the opening team. Since then, she has held various positions across industrial engineering, attendance forecasting and planning, later expanding her scope to cover operations and experience integration and support the HKDL site managing director to integrate, prioritize, and implement HKDL’s mission, objectives and strategies, championing integration and alignment for every major HKDL initiative and bringing clarity and precision to support decision-making and collaboration. She was part of all the expansion planning since the opening of HKDL, and has shaped outcomes across groundbreaking projects including HKDL’s 15th anniversary celebration and the opening of World of Frozen in 2023.

Rosalyn holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a master’s degree in Communications from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Rita TANG
Assistant Chief Counsel - Head of Legal

Rita TANG

Rita Tang joined Hong Kong Disneyland in August 2009 as a senior attorney and has taken on subsequent positions with increasing responsibility. As an Assistant Chief Counsel - Head of Legal, she is responsible for providing strategic legal advice and direction to the management team, implementing corporate legal and compliance policies and developing necessary local policies, and providing legal support on corporate, commercial, employment, intellectual property and general litigation-related matters.

Prior to joining Hong Kong Disneyland, Rita was an associate solicitor in the commercial and securities group of Baker & McKenzie, Hong Kong office. Rita holds an Honours degree, Bachelor of Arts (Jurisprudence) from the University of Oxford. Rita is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong.
